COMPUTER TECHNICIAN Responsibilities
included maintenance, installation and basic repairs for
approximately 700 Macintosh computers, ranging in age from seven
years old to brand new, within six buildings in three towns. Each
and every classroom had a minimum of three computers, and each lab
(one per building) has just over 30. Kept curriculum-mandated
software up to date and working, along with related hardware,
including optical mark scanners and printers, and client-server
systems (using Mac OS X Server or AppleShare IP and Macintosh
Manager) in the computer labs. Did basic network troubleshooting.
Maintained an inventory database of computers, related peripherals,
and software, including licensing. Also had influence for
technology use and purchasing decisions Summer
2002 - supervised the refurbishing of over 70 older Power Macintosh
computers, including adding network cards and memory, reinstalling
operating systems and applications. Also had a hand in digitizing
videos for electronic delivery, including use of an Apple Xserve for

into use in classrooms for curriculum work. Fall 2002 also saw
the district mandate e-mail by teachers and staff, which initially
was outsourced through free web-based e-mail providers During
2001 to 2002, over 400 new iMacs were put into place in all six
buildings, as well as, many new network printers. Was solely
responsible for set up and installation of all of these, on a then
brand new LAN/WAN. Also in late 2001 started work on an
Intranet web server, running on Mac OS X using Apache, to house
various tech support documentation and memos, in a move to cut back
